Where IGTAP speedruns live

IGTAP has an active speedrunning scene centred on speedrun.com/IGTAP, the community leaderboard for the game. Runs are also shared as YouTube videos, and several community channels have uploaded record-claim videos with the times stated in their titles. IGTAP is an unusual speedrun target because it is part incremental game: routing decisions about upgrades and clone economy sit alongside pure platforming execution.

One important caveat for everything on this page: the specific times below come from community video titles and community leaderboard listings, not from developer-certified records. Treat them as community-reported snapshots that can change at any time.

Categories on speedrun.com

The community leaderboard organises IGTAP runs into categories and modifiers. From the listings visible on speedrun.com, runs are split by level (Level 1, Level 2 and beyond) and by ruleset, including Any% and Glitchless, with further modifiers seen in listed runs such as "Release" version, ability restrictions (for example Doublejump or Dash), "No Major glitches," and A-Side play. The existence of an A-Side designation matches the community's references to a harder B-Side set of content.

For full-game runs, the headline category is Any% — finish the game by any legitimate means as fast as possible. If you are new, pick one category and stick to it; restricted modifiers like "Doublejump only" change routing completely, and comparing times across categories is meaningless.

Community-reported records

The following times appear in community video titles and are widely cited by the community. None are official records, and all may have been superseded:

Community-reported runTimeNotes
Any% Full Game19:40Video titled as a former world record
Any%18:45Video titled as a former Any% WR
Demo Any%28:29.88Run of the demo build, slower than full-game Any%
Level 11:34Community-reported WR dated 2026-05-03
All Glitches11:28Recorded on the pre-June 5 2026 version

Two of these deserve comment. The all-glitches 11:28 run predates the June 5 2026 version of the game, which is a reminder that patches can invalidate routes wholesale — always check which version a record was set on. And the demo Any% time being much slower than full-game Any% shows the demo is not a shortened preview of the same route; it is a different, more grindy challenge.

Demo runs versus full-game runs

IGTAP is playable for free in the browser via galaxy.click/play/694 and the developer's itch.io page ("igtap but patched"), and a Steam demo has also been promoted by the community. Demo Any% is effectively its own category: the community-recorded 28:29.88 run shows demo routing involves substantial incremental grinding rather than the tighter full-game path.

Note that the web builds and the Steam release may differ in content, so demo-based practice does not always transfer cleanly to the full game. If your goal is the full-game leaderboard, practise on the same build the category runs on.

Glitches, versions and the Vman speedrun

Speedrun.com listings distinguish Glitchless from runs allowing glitches, and label runs with version and "No Major glitches" style restrictions. Versioning matters in IGTAP: the all-glitches 11:28 community run is explicitly tagged "Pre June 5 2026 Version," so glitch routes are tied to the builds they were found on.

The game itself acknowledges speedrunning culture. Inside the Vman speedrun content there is an ominous message, rewarded with the rare achievement Quam Formidolosum (0.5% of players). The Vman courses (five of them, per the achievement list) are the game's built-in time-trial gauntlet, and Reverse Current asks you to complete every course in reverse order — a built-in challenge run for completionists.

Rules of thumb for a first run

  1. Choose one category — Any% Full Game or a single Level category — and read its rules on speedrun.com before timing anything.
  2. Learn the upgrade economy early: in an incremental-platformer hybrid, knowing which kiosks to buy and which to skip saves more time than perfect jumps.
  3. Record clean routes on courses you will keep farming; your clones' watts fund the rest of the run.
  4. Practise the movement ability chains (wall jump into dash into double jump) until they are automatic — deaths are the biggest time sink, and the game's own achievements joke about dying hundreds of times.
  5. Check the current community leaderboards and recent videos before attempting a record; patches like the June 5 2026 update can change what is possible.
